No surprises in Kate's choice of outfit today. The Duchess is wearing her white Adidas Team GB Polo shirt, navy jeans, Stuart Weitzman wedges and pearl earrings. Many of you have expressed your disappointment at the lack of variety in Kate's style throughout the Olympics. It would seem she has chosen a specific 'uniform' for the games consisting of Team GB attire, J Brand or Zara jeans, Smythe Blazer, Suart Weitzman wedges or Adidas trainers and pearl earrings. I don't anticipate we will see anything different until the closing ceremony Sunday.

I expect Kate has many stunning looks in the planning for the royal tour in September so certainly something to look forward to in terms of fashion.

New photos of Kate getting her hair done and William reveals his wish to postpone becoming a full time royal

Duchess Kate has been keeping a very low profile recently, but we are being spoilt with sightings this week. First it was announced William and Kate will open a children's cancer center on Thursday, then the photo's of the wedding and now photo's of Kate getting her hair done last Friday have emerged. Wearing a white sweater black jeans teamed with her Mulberry bag and knee high flat black suede boots (Yes the boots are back :)) Duchess Kate appeared happy and smiling as she left the salon.

Many of you mentioned you were surprised Kate spent four hours in Richard Ward's Chelsea salon. A source said "Kate goes in for a long appointment about every eight weeks. She loves her time there and has known everyone there for years so it's really relaxing for her".
Here is a sneak peak at the process............

In other Kate news
Vogue editor Anna Wintour has been campaigning to land Duchess Kate for the cover of Vogue. She has spoken to royal photographer Mario Testino in an effort to persuade Kate. A source said

A mockup I made
'Anna has been speaking to Mario about winning over Kate. She is really pressing him to shoot Kate for the cover. Every magazine has been trying to get Kate, and many assume it will eventually be Vogue. But even with the Mario Testino relationship it is not clear if it will happen. The palace have to approve it and they are very protective of Kate'.

However Anna will be disappointed as the Palace are having none of it :) St James's palace have announced Kate has absolutely no plans to appear on the cover despite rumours in the U.S. I am not surprised to be honest, While Diana appeared on the cover of Vogue as a young royal, I do not think Kate wishes to go down that road. In the meantime I made a mockup of a possible Kate cover!

Prince William gave a rare, exclusive interview to journalist Robert Hardman about the Queen, his wedding to Kate and plans for the future. William began by describing his feelings while planning the wedding.

"I came into the first meeting for the wedding, post engagement. And I was given the list of 777 names, dignitaries, governors, all sorts of people. Not one person I knew. They said these are the people we should invite. I looked at it in absolute horror and said I think we should start again".

The next day William rang the Queen for advice and she told him you start by inviting friends and then take it from there. William jokingly mentions how he wanted to choose what to wear for the wedding but was politely told his clothing for the day was non negotiable. Prince William holds great affection and love for his grandmother. 'I always say to people she is my grandmother first. As I've got older she has become more important to me'. He said both he and Kate drew inspiration from her majesty on their visit to Canada.

William and Kate were expected to become full time royals in about twenty months time. However this interview has put that into question. The Queen is reportedly supportive of William extending his time with the RAF there is even talk of a tour of Afghanistan. This would certainly be difficult for Kate to be separated from her husband for extended periods of time. I get the impression they simply love the anonymity being in Anglesey gives them and are eager to postpone becoming full time royals for a while. I think they should be allowed a little extra time to enjoy what they have.
When asked about his future as a full time royal. William simply replies "I try not to think about it to be honest. As I'm flying along in my helicopter through the mountains of Wales, I try desperately hard not to think about it. That can wait until I'm a bit older".

Kate's Ralph Lauren Purchases, New Wax Figures + More

Hello Kate fans, I hope you're having a lovely Sunday,
Duchess Kate has been spending the weekend in Berkshire with her family. She was seen in outlet shopping mall Bicester Village yesterday. Located in the heart of Oxfordshire and just sixty minutes from London, Bicester is easily accessible for those of you in the UK and every shopaholics dream :)

Bicester

The mall includes Kate favourite's McQueen, Amanda Wakeley, Temperly and Reiss but the 30 year old spent most of her time in Ralph Lauren. One lucky tweeter was standing beside Kate.

Kate's purchases were revealed by Susan S. via What Kate Wore. The Duchess chose three stunning dresses from the Ralph Lauren Black Label. We'll first look at my personal favourite the Aveline Silk Charmeuse Gown. The one shoulder, gold dress is simply beautiful. This would be an ideal piece for Wednesday's premiere, It will be very exciting to see the Duchess in Ralph Lauren for a red carpet/black tie event. It is available for €1798 and described as

"Old Hollywood glamour is conveyed in this bias-cut silk design, finished in a luxurious charmeuse for impressive drape and shine. One shoulder styling with three pleats at the front. Fits closely to the hip, flowing into a flaring hem with a slight train. 100% silk."

Ralph Lauren

The Daphne Ann is also a charmeuse dress. The navy wrap dress is available for $1698 and described as

"The lovely Daphne Ann dress features a flattering wrap silhouette of whisper-thin silk that can be easily styled for day or evening. Bodice has a fixed wrap construction with pleats at the side. Deep neckline. Gently flared silk. Concealed side zipper. 100% silk."

Ralph Lauren

Kate also purchased the Darwin Silk Crepe Dress. At first glance I thought this was quite different from Kate's typical style but Kate will most likely have the length altered. The Duchess has favoured dresscoats over the past year and teamed with a hat this piece will look amazing. It is available for €1798 and described as

"With a nod to menswear styling, the well-appointed Darwin dress is enduringly ladylike in lightweight silk crepe with a classic double-breasted silhouette and covered buttons. Notched lapel. Padded shoulders. Angled besom chest pocket. 100% silk."

Ralph Lauren

Kate also purchased a beaded bikini and the Santana striped dress. (With thanks to What Kate Wore) What do you think of Kate's choices? Excellent possibilities for upcoming engagements and the royal tour this autumn.

Kate and Pippa feature on the cover of US Weekly this week. The media has been having a field day since Pippa was photographed in a car where one of her friends was jokingly aiming a gun at the paparazzi. Reportedly the Windsor's are quite displeased about the incident. I understand Pippa is not a royal but considering Kate's position, I'm not sure antics like this are appropriate. I would love to hear your thoughts?

Pregnancy speculation

Anyone who has been following the fairytale romance of William and Kate knew that, after their amazing wedding, talk would immediately turn to pregnancy rumours. The couple who are currently honeymooning in the Seychelles, have become bookies favourites with Ladbrokes announcing the odds at 7-1 for them to become parents in February 2012.  If Kate does not become pregnant within nine months, she will be breaking a two hundred year old tradition. When the couple announced their engagement in November 2010, they discussed having a family. William said, 'I think we'll take it one step at a time. We'll sort of get over the marriage first and then maybe look at kids. But obviously we want a family so we'll have to start thinking about that'.

William, like his mother, is instinctively drawn to babies in his charitable work and when engaging with the public. The couple will most likely be hoping for a boy as their first born. They will be aware of the pressure to produce a male heir. In the past week, rumors have been swirling with one headline reading 'pregnant bride'. Buckingham Palace has brushed aside those rumors as 'absurd' and 'certainly not true' When the pair do decide to have a child, William and Kate will make excellent parents.
