Kate shops at Boots before Gala dinner

Photographed just hours before her dazzling social debut at the ARK Gala Dinner, the Duchess of Cambridge could have been any other shopper on London's King's Road. Kate was spotted in flat white pumps, hudson jeans and a cream scoop neck jumper with a lemon vest underneath. Her long, wavy hair was tied back in a bun. Kate was accompanied by two plain clothes Scotland Yard police protection officers while shopping in the Peter Jones department store in Sloane Square where she reportedly spent almost an hour purchasing a small number of fashion accessories. She bought facial moisturisers from Boots low cost Nivea range. Kate browsed through Boots casually unnoticed by her fellow shoppers. Her protection officers keeping a low profile.

The Duchess was then driven back to the Clarence House apartment that she and William are sharing with Prince Harry until they move into Kensington Palace next month. Just four hours later, Kate was transformed, arriving at the ARK Gala wearing a shimmering pink Jenny Packham dress. The event raised £17.2 million for disadvantaged children in the U.K. and around the world. Kate is obviously keen to maintain a sense of normality, shopping on the high street as she had always done prior to her marriage.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's official Canada and California tour portait released

The Duchess of Cambridge has recycled another outfit for the official portrait for the Canada and California tour. The navy Amanda Wakeley suit Kate first wore when the couple visited Darwen, Lancashire a few weeks before the wedding. Kate recently stated she would not be purchasing new outfits for every formal ocassion 'Times are tough. I cannot be expect to wear a new outfit for every royal engagement, I am not a fashion model'. In these recessionary times it is good to hear Royals too are aware of their spending.

The portait taken on June 3 was taken in the grounds of Clarence House with foilage in the background will be featured in Canadian and Californian newspapers and websites. The pair are smiling wearing matching navy suits. Kate wears her hair down and looks radiant in this portrait. On their visit to Canada they will visit eight cities in attempt to get to know the locals. I think this tour will really give people a chance to get to know the real Kate, already people seem to love her. The tour is only days away, We all look forward to seeing what she will wear and how the couple interact with their fans!

Duchess of Cambridge to helps girls become princesses for a day

While William and Kate are enjoying their honeymoon in the idyllic Seychelles, news of Kate's charity work plans have been announced. The Duchess of Cambridge is to become a patron of the charity Starlight. Starlight brightens the lives of seriously and terminally ill children by granting them once in a lifetime wishes. All of Starlight's activities are there to distract from the pain the children may be feeling as a result of their illnesses. Over 500,000 children benefit from these services annually.

Kate and Prince William have previously attended fundraisers for the charity. Once Kate returns from her honeymoon she will offer girls the chance to be princesses for the day. This will obviously be a dream come true for these children. Last year, Starlight arranged for Prince William to entertain a six year old girl, Lydia, after she said it was her wish to be a princess. Party Pieces, the mail order company owned by Kate's family, has helped organise many of these events. In 2009, children helped by Starlight were asked to put up Christmas decorations in Clarence House, London home of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla.

Duchess Kate Photographed Shopping in Chelsea Last Weekend

I expected we would not see new photos of Kate until her next engagement on June 13th, where she and William will accompany the Queen on a visit to Nottingham. However Kate sightings are like buses you wait quite a while for one and then several come along at once :) The latest issue of In Touch magazine features a photo of Kate shopping in Chelsea on June 2nd.

In Touch

Incidentally the same day as the Epsom Derby. The couple missed the first day of the Jubilee celebrations because Prince William was undertaking flying exams for his captaincy, which he is expected to achieve in the very near future.

Kate looked chic in a dark green dress with a ruffled hem teamed with a matching belt and waterfall cardigan. (I will update with ID's if they are confirmed) The Duchess wore her hair scraped back in a bun and accessorised with a white handbag with black stripes and pearl earrings.

As for the headline the article is running, I do not believe Kate is pregnant. The only source who can provide official confirmation is Clarence House and they have not done so. The pregnancy rumours have persisted since the wedding and will no doubt continue to do so. This magazine has run several stories over the past year 'confirming Kate's pregnancy' and discussing the couple's alleged 'baby heartbreak'.

In Touch
The issue of In Touch featuring Kate on the cover is available tomorrow for $2.99.
